The annual Burns Supper took place on Friday 9th February with a large attendance. Chairman Bob Wyllie welcomed members and guests.
Musical items featured excellent selections from piper Malcolm Gilmour and top class singing from Jim Irwin and Ben Morrison. Eddie Gaughan gave an outstanding rendition of Tam O' Shanter and other readings from Walter Sneddon and David McDonald kept up the very high standard.
A well researched and delivered Immortal Memory by John McKellar drew a deserved standing ovation. Mike Taylor's tongue in cheek and witty Toast to the Lasses pleased the well refreshed audience. A humourous toast to the Artistes by Keir Brown wound up the formal procedings.
Thanks are also due to Tom McRae who led the audience in song. At approx 11.30 the supper finished. Feedback from those in attendance rated this as one of the best Annual Burns Suppers and we now look forward to 10th February 2008.
