Vale of Leven Bowling Club
14th Annual Burns Supper, 8 February 2008

Robert Burns

The 14th Annual Burns Supper took place in the club on the 8th February 2008 attended by a large and appreciative company.

David McDonald Bob Wyllie

Chairman, David MacDonald, ensured the programme ran smoothly.  Ben Morrison and Tom McRae sang excellently for their supper and Lenny Moore and Malcolm Gilmour added greatly to the evening music.

Readings from Euan McCaughey, John Turner and Walter Sneddon maintained the high standard now expected at the Vale. David Kinniburgh toasted “The Lasses” and Eric McCleary delivered The Immortal Memory.

Bob Wyllie toasted The Artistes and stressed how superbly each of the Artistes had performed. The company showed their appreciation.

Many thanks go to Rosemary and her girls for organising the tables and cooking and serving the meal.  Thanks also to the bar staff, to all helpers to Alex Shaw for handling the finances, to W Sloan for his donation of the haggis but mostly to the members and friends who turned out to make this another successful Burns Supper.  A special thank you goes to Talisker Whisky for their donation to the evening.
