2006 Open Qualifying Tournament

This year's open qualifying tournament was held on Saturday 29 April. The conditions were perfect and the participants and spectators enjoyed glorious sunshine throughout the day. As expected the dew covered greens played very heavy in in the first section games but in subsequent games the sun did its work and they speeded up allowing some excellent bowling to take place.

As usual, the section games produced great competition and at the end of the proceedings the rinks skipped by Maurice MacMillan, Jake Lewis, Robin Miller and David Nicolson made it through to the semi final stages.

The eventual, worthy winners were J. Wood, Dick Milne, Ritchie Milne and Jake Lewis (skip).

Throughout the day the bar staff were kept busy ensuring that everyone was suitably refreshed or perhaps "over refreshed" as some of the images below testify. Thanks again to the staff for their hard work and for the ladies for providing an excellent lunch.
